So yesterday, after a slow day at work (surfing the 'net for 6 hours+), for the first time, I attended a toastmasters meeting.
I had checked them out on the web prior to attending, and well, they did look like a bunch of g33ks. And yups, when I showed up... the guys did look like a bunch of geeks. On the other hand, the women, were the strong-headed, career orientated type (I would say... kelly ripas mixed with crazy lesbian dykes... hypothetically of course). It was an interesting mix of people. I sat through the whole meeting, just listening to them go. At least they seem friendly, and a close knit group. It should be intersting working with these people over the next few months.
Most are recent grads/masters/phd students... there's a few undergrads (me included) and 1 guy who's an accountant, trying to break into corporate finance now... he's like got kids etc.
had a decent time.
After that... went to the gym, and ran for 25 minutes with a 5 minute break between... (did 15, break then 10). TIRED!
Been having problems with my yahoo account, so I don't know if i'm rafting with jen, robin and them... i hope so, i e-mailed back like 100x to them and still they haven't gotten the msgs. :( Sad. I want to go too.
